I did a search and can only find one post dealing with this, it's from 2007, and no one replied to it so... ( unless there is something hidden under a different title)... My blue tooth connection stays wonderful and carefree until I get a text message while connected. Then for some reason it messes things up. My phone status shows me on "call waiting" and the call timer is going and I get the "phone in use" error message when I try to make outgoing calls with the hands free. When it's like this, I can still pick up my phone and dial from it and it will stay connected. Shutting off my phone is the only way I've discovered to fix it. I'll try to repeat creating and resolving the glitch today to verify it's consistently behaving like that.
It's gotta be your phone's (incorrect) handling of Bluetooth... my iPhone 3GS continues to work just fine in the Prius while it is connected via Bluetooth, and while it is sending/receiving text messages. Time for you to get an iPhone! ;-)
The problem is with your particular make and model of phone. If you want more information, it would help if you listed your phone and service provider. Tom
Verizon LG Dare (541) 91........ Wait a minute! That's TMI!! I don't know where to find the model info?
