I clearly can't decide on an avatar. I had every intention of having someone take my photo while in my new car, but then medical issues and rain changed my plans. Since then, it's like I'm trying on outfits looking for one that fits. ... I just read what I wrote. I think I have too much time on my hands this week, home with recovery boy!!!!
Avatar Identity Personally... the one I remember with you and the hound was quite nice. But if you HAVE to change... don't use a cartoon to be you... you are sooooo much more becoming than a toon Sis. Glad to hear your boy is recovering well.
A straight-on, simple, head photo of yourself or your dog is always a good avatar. I agree that a cartoon is not great, though we used to have a member whose avatar was a photoshopped animated gif of a penguin knocking another penguin into the water. I could never stop spending a good half minute watching that.
I also vote for your previous pic. Then, again, some cartoons can be very expressive of who one is (like mine, LOL).

hmm. well first off, hope the medical thing is going well on the up side. as far as avatars, i liked your old one as well. and i do like Tom's suggestion.... hmmm... well a good fallback is always taking your car to a pretty place in your neck of the woods for a shot. here is a pic of my street. leaves are awesome this time of year. i could also show you our pumpkins on the porch... P.S. i am home today as my son is sick as well. oh well, jus a cold i guess. thought it might be the flu and it still might be. too early to tell. it came on last night. if he runs around like he normally does, its a cold, if he stays in bed and watches TV (not something is prone to do... he is ALWAYS into something) that means he has body aches which is sure sign of flu

Seriously, I liked the first avatar myself but perhaps we need an Olivia avatar poll thread where you upload various pics of yourself and we ahhhh, vote on them. Bikini pics are certainly valid for these types of polls. I think it's a forum rule or something. j/k
We've already established that you are overly hard on yourself. You've posted pictures of yourself elsewhere on PC that show you to be an attractive woman. The consensus of the males here seems to be the bikini.
LOL!! Alright alright alright.. I get it. Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really do appreciate it. I NEVER thought I would say this but, I also want to relate on other levels too. That's part of the reason I took the original picture down. I was told it was "sexy". I did not realize that picture was sexy, I just thought it was me and my dog. Sometimes as a woman you want men to listen to what you say, not just want to look at you ( or your picture). (still cannot believe I am saying this) I went years and years without any male attention at all (married to a not interested man) so I am really grateful for your kind and flattering words, my esteem is soaking them up trust me, but there really is more to me than just how I look. Besides, I've gained weight in the last year. A desk job has been hard on my self care habits. If how I appear on the outside is where all of my value is, then what value do I have if that is gone?
If your avatar and your other pics were all that we cared about, you would never have received the replies you've gotten in different threads. You HAVE value. Assignment, reread all the replies to your posts since you've been here and then tell me that we think you don't have value!
Thank you. I didn't mean to imply that I felt de-valued. I'm struggling with my identity, and sometimes as much as I really really enjoy all of the intelligence on these boards, it challenges me!
