That's a pretty impressive chart. Would even be handy while reading the books just to help keep things straight.
Stev0, Up to this point... no. In the future... might could be. I feel compelled to note that the chart tracks the various LOTR protagonists as shown in the movies, not in the books. The two are close, but artistic liberties were taken. The difference easiest to cite are the deaths and Sauron and Wormtongue at Isengard in the movie. In the original version, they made their wrecthed way to Hobbiton, preceding the Hobbits.
I would have read the books but I can't read. Thanks for this chart and the site link. I also enjoy www.informationisbeautiful.net which presents information in pictograms.

Clearly, he doesn't think much of 12 Angry Men. Am I imagining things, or do I remember XKCD's creator posting here?
wow, very cool.... as far as 12 angry men. that movie was basically a one scene movie pretty much played in real time
"both DVD's?" i got all 3 box sets, platinum edition, extended scenes, 2 discs movies, 2 discs special features. very little overlap in the discs. was surprised that they could do 6 special features discs without a lot of repeats.
