No body rot on my '04 despite New England's best efforts every winter, but certainly a bit of rust on various suspension components underneath, various bolt heads and threads on the exterior of the cabin, and the muffler/tailpipe. Nothing has progressed to the point of needing replacement yet, which as far as the muffler is concerned I find completely amazing. The rest of the exhaust system is stainless, so I expect that to last quite a bit longer.. . _H*
Do you think the custom shops that paint or chrome suspension parts, etc, could prevent these exposed parts from corroding? I suspect it would be a high maintenance affair, with painted springs needing to be touched up regularly. Most of those fancy undersides don't get to see much, if any, road. Yes, I have been spending too much time at car shows.
I've only been through one winter with my prius, but I haven't noticed any rusting. I do however make it a point to spray down the underside of my car with a power washer every now and then when its warm enough to do so outside. I have an unreasonable fear of rust...
Am I the only one who has had problems with the wiper arms corroding, where the paint bubbles? The paint surface hasn't broken yet, but it's only a matter of time... It's happening on both wipers, but the driver side is more advanced. Anyone else?
