what process did u use for the matte finish? if u ever wanna trade out those wheels for the same ones with a lighter finish (pkg 5), or those seats for misty grey leather ones... <--- this guy wants em
JANSone I dipped it since its cheaper and easier to remove than vinyl. It came out well so I think I will be doing either orange or baby blue next. also i will be removing the wheels and probably putting them up for sale
do me a favor and give me a one week jump on the competition for those wheels as i would probably put mine up for sale and try to offset buying yours. as for the dip, did u use aerosol cans? i keep seeing that if you're going to do your whole car, u need to use a paint sprayer (non-aerosol). where are u located BTW? Seattle or DC?
I assume the original color of you 2013 Prius Persona is Black Cherry. One of the best looking colors ever. The matte black doesn't compare.
JANSone Yeah I used a sprayer, there is no way you can do a whole car with cans, it would cost 3 times the amount and it would come out with streaks and texture.
-1- Yeah thats correct, I just wanted a change, its removable so I will be doing a different color soon I'm sure. There are tons of Prius in my area, OR and WA, I just wanted something that stood out a little
did u rent the sprayer or do u own one? i want to do the clear matte as a protector mainly from the sprinklers on my driveway and also for a matte look. i love plasti dip... if i could buy stock i would cause when u google it, hundreds of people are buying cans by the dozen for all sorts of projects, and that's just cars.
JANSone, I picked up the Graco 3900 at Lowes, its only $150. it pays for itself, some shops here charge $400 to $800 avg to get your car dipped. My car is the 3rd car only that i dipped. once you get the hang of it, its super easy
and the paint is just the plain ol' plasti dip in the big cans that i see at the hardware stores next to the aerosol cans? man very inspiring, i think i wanna try. does it peel as easily as the aerosol plasti dip?
