I dream of having my home portable and self sufficient as well as vehicles that I can charge with my own photo voltaic system and renewable resources. I understand that it is not likely to happen in my lifetime, but it never hurts to dream.
I purchased a used, 2011 Prius with the five package and the Advanced Technology Package. So far I really love it! I drove it from the dealer in Dallas, TX to Naples, FL the other day and averaged over 53 mpg during the 1500 mile plus trip. I incorporated "hyper mileage" techniques where I could, which is why I beat the EPA estimate for highway miles.
I drive over 20,000 miles per year and this will not only help the environment, but will save enough money to pay for the car over it's life. I would like to see other, even more efficient hybrid vehicles. The Prius is by far the most tested, mass produced "green" automobile in the world. I would like to look back 10 years from now and say, "Wow, remember when we thought 50 mpg was good?"
