After helping my son purchase and maintain his '07 base model (Inverter pump x2, Brake actuator, 3-way valve and tie rods coming shortly) over the last 4 years, I just purchased a a 166K mile 2010 for myself to give my '02 4Runner (270K miles) some downtime for a timing belt and potential head gasket with out the need to rush the work. Once the 4Runner is back on the road, I can then decide whether to keep or sell the Prius (cheaper than a rental).
While the exterior is rough with missing clear coat and peeling paint in some places, along with what looks a missing seal between the top of the windshield and roof, the engine looks clean internally, it rides well and the interior is clean.
Now that I have one for myself I'm immersing myself in some of the potential pre-emptive initial maintenance I'll be needing to get out of the way (coolant, trans fluid, brake fluid flush, ignition and perhaps water pump.Interact
