Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max Tires Selected for 2010 Toyota Prius The 2010 Toyota Prius, with its excellent fuel economy and low emissions, now comes standard with Goodyear's new fuel-efficient tire, Assurance Fuel Max. The fitment for the popular Prius will be Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires in size P195/65R15. The Assurance Fuel Max features a fuel-saving tread compound that helps reduce energy loss as the tire rolls. In addition, Wet and Dry Tread Zones enhance all-season traction. The Wet Tread Zone features dual Aquachannel grooves to help evacuate water away from the treadface when driving on wet roads. The Dry Tread Zone helps enhance handling and grip for confident maneuvering on dry pavement. The selection of the new Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max as a standard tire for the 2010 Toyota Prius follows earlier announcements of the tire also being chosen for the 2010 Ford Fusion S and the exclusive fitment for the 2011 Chevrolet Volt.
Seems very carefully worded to avoid saying this is the exclusive tire for the 2010 Prius. Looks like this will just be another one of the many possible tires that have been showing up on the new Prius.
The Fuel Max has already started showing up on 2010 Priuses being delivered in the US. One PriusChatter recently put his OEM Fuel Max tires for sale on PriusChat.
As a further update, this report makes it clear the Goodyear will be one of 3 possible tires on the non-V models: Tire Business - Log In Toyota Motor North America Inc. has added Goodyear’s Assurance Fuel Max as a standard OE fitment on the 2010 Prius hybrid alongside the Bridgestone Ecopia EP 2000 and Yokohama Avid. The standard fitment is P195/65R15. Earlier, Toyota picked the all-season Toyo Proxes A20, Bridgestone Turanza and Michelin Pilot, size P215/45R17, as OE on the premium V model.
