In looking at the photo of the 2010 Prius Rear Badge that has the blue "glow" I was wondering if that lights up ? If I'm not mistaken I thought that the old concept car was designed with rear lighting that lit up when the car was running electric only. Could they have designed the rear badge this way ? See the rear of the Hybrid X Concept on the Toyota.com concept vehicle page I cant post links yet :-(
Snarkster, As a "concept" at an auto show a blue light is just fine. But out in the real world, the blue light might be a problem. IIRC, other than the required lighting -- red tail and brake lights, yellow turn signals, white headlights and reverse -- for additional lighting; * yellow is reserved for service vehicles. * red is reserved for emergency vehicles, and * blue is reserved for law enforcement. Would you care to be the first to find out whether your local boys-in- blue think a blue light, especially one that flashes, is just a joke, or a serious infringement? I doubt that Toyota does... think massive recall.
Nope. It'll just be like the current Lexus hybrids but with a T instead of an L. it's just a blue background made to look like it glows.
Green would be a real problem, at least in New York State, where it's reserved for volunteer ambulance personnel.
