Did you hear everybody? Earthquake in Chile, Tsunami in Hawaii!!! Toyota who? The day has finally come. Toyota's recall issues have run their course and been solved. Funny how that works.
Similarly, the problems of election fraud and civil unrest in Iran were solved -- at least to the satisfaction of the U.S. mass media -- by the death of Michael Jackson.
The media's hysterical obsession with possible irregularities/anomalies in Toyota vehicles seems to have subsided. However, there are still two more Congressional hearings scheduled. Some fundamental concerns have not yet been resolved, or at least not clearly explained. So, we can expect to hear more, if not from the main stream media, then from internet sources with primarily automotive focus. (And then there's the resident GM sycophant/FUD merchant, who is always trying to make anti-Toyota mountains out of mole hills... the one who breathlessly conjures smoking guns behind every bush and blade of grass.) With any luck, further coverage will be more rational, researched, and representative of the true nature of the various issues.
The Nazca plate reported that it applied the brakes but was unable to stop before subducting under the South American plate. Investigators found it had stacked an all-weather floormat on top of the regular floor mat due to persistent El Nino conditions. Congress will hold hearings soon. /s
This just seen on the supermarket tabloids on the stands now: Sainthood pends for Michael Jackson, Princess Diana, and Elvis Presley. The NEW Holy Trinity?. I'm sure it is won't go over in Popetown though. Every body sing along; [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f72CTDe4-0]YouTube - Tom Lehrer - The Vatican Rag[/ame] Not from the mass media who are off again wallowing in sensationalism... While technically Hawai'i experienced a tsunami, it can hadly be said that they "Survived A Hit" when it was all of a 2 foot sea surface level rise.
Tom Lehrer was one of my favorites. We had all his records back in the day, but I never knew there were videos.
