Caused a lot of trouble yesterday. Is this a serious design flaw or am I missing something. No electricity, no control of door locks, yikes.
You'd have to crawl back from the interior to pull the manual release... but why? Access to the battery for jumping is available from under the hood in front. .
Also, it would be good if all owners would read their owner's manual. They would enjoy their car more, knowing how to operate its systems in normal mode, or if a system malfunctions.
And in case you don't get the significance of this, once you have 12V applied to the "jump terminal", you can then unlock the hatch. If you want to. But it appears you might want to start the car, drive to the dealer, and let them deal with the dead battery. Access to the interior is with the key inside the fob. You think -this Prius- design is a flaw? Just try the 350Z. The front windows must roll down about 1" so you can open the door. Dead battery means no access to the hood release or interior of the car! Good luck charging the battery.
Where are the jumping posts in frong? I took it for an oil change and they were clueless as well has having drained the battery. thanks
Where did you get your oil changed? Never go back there again. The jump points are in the black fuse box under the hood on the driver's side. See the manual for details. Tom

Yes. Don't let the oil change place try to jump the HV battery. Or, if you do, make sure to get a video of it and post it on YouTube. It should be spectacular, but not in a good way. :madgrin:
Right, the wire on the point circled in blue under the red cover in the picture connects via a 100AMP fuse to the 12V battery positive terminal in the rear of the car. Check your owners manual for an illustration. CAUTION: As is always stated, use extreme caution when jumpstarting with regard to polarity as incorrect polarity can have dire consequences to your inverter.
That would most likely be a dealer, and even some of them have problems. If you are in the Bay area, the absolute best place for Prius service is Luscious Garage. If you have the Owner's Manual, read it. It's full of info you need to know. If you don't have a 2007 Prius Owner's Manual, buy one, from a dealer or online, and read it.
