Hmm... Would seem to involve drilling holes in the side of the car... May be more of a mod than I'm willing to try Dave
Nice and great price! Now just to decide to drill/nibble, or go with the side-marker mirrors instead.
Yeah, see that was what I was afraid of. I don't feel comfortable drilling a hole into the side of the body.
I'm still waiting 3 weeks now for my ordered Prius car-cover and front-end mask.. hope this sites 3-4 week's estimated delivery frame holds!! should have ordered the mud-guards then, darnit!
Just waiting for the 2006 details to be finalized, then I'll be ready. Well, that and waiting for this Energy Bill to be sent through the Senate so that we know all of the details on it. I'm shooting for Jan 1, or sooner, depending on when the new tax credit will be starting. Though I bet the $2,500 tax credit will all be spent in Areometer's shop...
Finally! I was just looking to buy side markers. I cannot tell you how many times people have crossed over to the lane where i was signaling to change... All U.S. cars should have side markers or mirror signals.
This is how you do it. 1) Print out Internet photographs of Japanese Prius w/ original JDM sidemarkers & show your bodyshop. This is to determine the location you want to have these installed. 2) Have your bodyshop drill the holes on the Prius body (I know, but tell your Prius that this is for his/her own good cos' sidemarkers help in minimizing accidents big time). Your bodyshop should prime the area where they drill so it will not rust. NOTE: Measure twice drill only once... they should know. 3) This sidemarker kit comes w/ wire harness, you just connect the 2 wires with the +ve & -ve wires from your front directional signal. No relay & no other parts are needed. Since that we utilize amber LED bulbs, they flash instantaneously without the delayed 'glowing' effect of incandesecent bulbs. Oh, one more thing, the pic. above doesn't do the sidemarkers justice. They look clear-whitish, the amber color barely shows through unless the amber bulb is lit up. Edward
To HYACK & silentak1, your products had been shipped out today already. You should've received UPS tracking info in the email by now. And yes, please post photos to show us all. Thanks. Edward
Damn that's fast! Now that's service! Edit: I wonder if Toyota Collision Service will drill the hole lol
Now that we know we can do it this way, time to ask Longo! And probably make sure it's installed well so the auto-carwash doesn't scrape it off!
Areometer, What size and shape hole does this need? Do you have a model that has two separate bulbs in it?
