    Hey all,

I could not find much info on prices paid for Level V. I currently negotiating with my dealer. Blizzard Pearl Level V with Tech package along with window tint, carpet mats, underbody shield, and rear bumper protector.

The dealer is asking $36,000 out the door (TTL included). I am negotiating $35,000 OTD. Is $35k a good price for this vehicle??

    Thanks in advance!

    I don't understand your figures.
    36000 OTD
    35000 OTD

    1000 off.. ?

If you're getting 2800 off the MSRP that sounds like a good number.

The dealer is offering the car for $36k OTD.

I am offering to buy it for $35k OTD.

So, we're $1000 apart in the deal. I don't think that i am at invoice with $35k out the door...close to invoice, but the dealer is making some profit for sure.

Sorry, forgot to include in my original post, but the MSRP of the car is $35,208. This is MSRP...so, you have to add in TTL to get the OTD.

All the extra fees (especially sales tax) can really vary a lot by locale. What's the price before TTL? My V with the AT package was $31,900 (including floor mats, but not the other extras you mentioned, not that they should add much to the cost of building the vehicle, though they could be used to jack up the price).

After tax and all that, it came to $35,400 OTD. I feel like it was an OK deal; not great, but not horrible.

Keep in mind that the Blizzard Pearl also costs more, too; if your sales tax is lower than mine, you might be able to get it for $35,000 if the dealer really wants to move the vehicle.

Consider using the following calculator to determine the approximate dealer cost etc...then you can bargain with knowledge. Dealers must make some profit to stay in business so several hundred above actual cost is a necessity. Before I nearly paid MSRP for my 2009 Prius I had always aimed for 500 above cost. Now that Prius has slipped in the market somewhere in that ball park would be a reasonable goal.

I would go for less - maybe $32K given Toyota's problems. I know folks that would now no sooner look at a Toyota than a Chrysler - how the mighty (and arrogant) have fallen.

$31,300 is approx dealer cost...add for tint, mats, etc..some markup there...31,600 seems close...
Add 500 for dealer profit...then calculate the tax, title...no"admin fee" if you can help it.
Yes, $32,000+ seems a good price for the car...watch out for stuff added in above required state/local gov fees which are not negotiable.
It sounds like a wonderful car. :p

Actually, the salesman who we bought from stated that his dealership has been very busy the past several months. (BTW, he is actually one of the few salesman that i trust.) From going around the different dealerships, Toyota dealership is in no worst shape than any other. In fact, with the special rates, i would bet that Toyota is getting more business than usual as people (like me) think that this is the best time to buy one.
