Xena - my first cat. Xena was almost precisely 13 when she died on my lap today. Up until 2-3 weeks ago, she was active and might have been going senile with some of her clueless actions. Cats hide illness well, so a week ago when she ate less and hid, it was probably already too late. To feed her water, the last day I used my WaterPik on a one second interval, then realized if she does not eat it's futile. I was on the phone and her breathing was less labored then a few moments later I noticed it stopped, then her bright blue eyes faded. As she got older, she started to "talk" like another traditional Siamese a neighbor had growing up....it took her at least three seconds to "yeowl". I regarded them as really being from the Deep South. For Xena http://www.youtube.com/v/4-L6rEm0rnY&hl=en_US&fs=1&
