I traded my 2007 Prius for the 2010 III Prius on 5/30. I had 5 wonderful days with it and on the 6th day, it started. There is a loud creaking noise when the brake pedal is pushed and released. The dealership contacted Toyota and did everything that was suggested to correct the problem and no luck. I have been waiting since for a Toyota rep to come out and look at it. This is beyond frustrating. My brand new car has been at the dealership longer than I have had it in my garage.
The last time I had creaking from the pedal box of a vehicle, it turned out to be a cracked weld on the pedal bracket.
Well, I finally got my car back today and the diagnosis was: Bad master cylinder. It must have been something interesting because they had a guy fly in to fix it and also 3 guys from Toyota corporate.
