    Figuratively at least and irrespective of the actual physical damage,
    once the weapon was discharged, the officer had shot herself in the foot.

    But what the hey!

    If you're drunk out of your skull, "packing heat," and lack external
    genitalia as targets of opportunity, -- round up the usual suspects --
    you might just as well put a round through the floor of the vehicle
    you're riding in.

    Gives new meaning to the phrase, "And one for the road." :p

    This is typical in most police departments. They call it "professional courtesy."

    What's amazing is that the officers were so complacent that they didn't pat her down. Officer Safety 101. :rolleyes:

    One other thing of note: one of the off-duty cops called into help, Helm, was Beemer's (the drunk cop) boyfriend.

    If one is going to get that drunk one should place one's pistol in a safe place.

    It will be interesting to see how vigorously this is prosecuted. My bet is: not very.

    Aren't dash cams wonderful!

    Yes they are. I wonder why they don't have a second cam covering the interior. That, I think, would be a lot more interesting in many cases.
