Has anyone else seen this bumper sticker lately. I saw 2 last week while driving to southern Michigan from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. 1 was on a Chevy bumper. The other was being waved toward all Toyotas from the kid in the back seat of a mini van. I am wondering what it means. I can only come up with 2 reasons for it. They are worried about sudden unintended accelaration and are worried for my life of they hate foreign cars. I'm not sure what it is and am not sure whether to be offended or thankful for their concern for me. Anyone else seen these and know what they are trying to say? I have never owned a foreign car before and do feel slightly guilty about it. However, when a US manufacturer makes a car as good or better than my Prius, I will consider buying it.
Come on? It's a bumper sticker. You see why I hate bumper stickers now? It doesn't "mean" anything. You can stick one on the back of your car that say's "Eat My Voltage!" or some other hybrid supporting slogan and be accused of being smug and people NOT thinking it is funny, and others can put Anti-Toyota "sarcasm" in the form of slogans on theirs. It doesn't mean anything much of anything. I personally find using bumper stickers or bumpers to advance your personal taste in politics, social issues, humor or world crisis, personally inane and usually tacky at best. But I wouldn't sweat it. Sooner or later GM or Ford will stumble with some huge recall and you can counter with whatever "funny" bumper sticker of the moment comes out of the situation.
Are you kidding? Stumble you say? . . . Oh, it IS going on . . . it just isn't hardly news worthy ... because it is EXPECTED that GM (et al) will have 'issues'. I'd be bragging about MY non-Toyota, with a bumper sticker enough all ready? I can show more non-Toyota defects, but my cut & past finger is getting tired. On the OTHER hand, THIS bumper sticker will ALWAYS ring true: .
You will note the sticker was reported in Michigan. Funny that much of their income is from the American auto industry. Do you -suppose- that -might- have something to do with the bumper sticker? DO YOU??!!
