Thanks Tideland! .. the wife was sweating a bit ..LOL .. but it was fun!! I've filled up enough now that I'm pretty comfortable with the idea that on my vehicle at least the last bar starts to flash with 10lts left. So depending on the FF I can estimate about 200kms max once the last bar starts to flash. I reset my B-trip once the last bar flashes and this time ran it 167kms and added 41.33 lts. I've been averaging 4.2lts calc so as long as my current ff is showing 3.9 to 4.1 I figure I can do almost 200. I can't recall who, but one of our fellow members posted a 700 mile, 1125kms tank which is wild. Dan
Same but I was too chicken to run it to 1000. I refuelled at 914km with 38 litres. Will try again before summer ends! There's a 700 tank thread in the Gen 2 forum somewhere (probably under the FE forum)...

Through the Rockies ... lucky guy!! I'm headed out now to drive to Timmins in northern Ontario, will return through Michigan ~ 1800-2000km looking forward to the trip, but the Rockies ... much more fun Funny re your third tank and comments, I don't ever think I've seen the Calc better then the MFD? Hope you enjoy your trip.
If you ever have a chance to drive or hike through them, there's a lot to discover out here. You'll also discover how our cross-country highway is, umm, inadequate, particularly near Golden, BC. I did drive from Toronto (Oakville to be specific) to Vancouver back in 2008. Took the route along the north shore of Superior/Huron. Had a great time. Enjoy your trip!

Golden! oh yes "interesting" road from Field, BC. We were married out there in 97 and did that drive along with many others, but none quite as "fun" as the Golden drive. We have been fortunate to have driven and hiked a fair bit of the Rockies and the Coastal range, but have never driven all the way from Ontario, perhaps some day. Dan
