I am going to get my windows tinted next week and I need to know what this item is so I can remove it possibly. It is the black thing about 1" by 5", anyone know what it is?
It might be something the dealer put on for Service? (Like a CC Smart Card) I'd ask, but if other Cars in the lot don't have them, it's probably nothing.. I'd ask the dealer myself. But you are probably safe..
Wow - memories.... I asked the very same question on PChat almost exactly one year ago after picking up my new car. It's an embed microchip that the Toyota Region (not sure if each US region does) puts on each vehicle once in Port. Yes, it contain info about the particular vehicle for tracking, inventory etc. The dealer is supposed to remove during prep. Mine wasn't, and apparently yours too. It can be easily removed - like a band-aid. Does no damage and not needed - like a belly button. Good luck and have fun with your Prius!!! Mine is just over a year old, 10K miles - only trip into the dealer was for the brake fix and lumbar noise. Other than that, perfecto!
AW! I was thinking it was a Dealer thing, Looks like it's a factory thing.. Too bad it wasn't a Free Toll Pass for people? LOL I'm glad someone knew what it was. When I went for a test drive last week, I noticed none of them had it..... Russ
