I have a 2010 prius IV. When driving on low beam, a dark shadow is cast in the road that is very distracting. I checked many of the other post and either my problem is unique or this just doesn't bother anyone else. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so were you able to adjust the head lights to correct it?
It could be a bug on your lens...Have you checked? Is it clean? Also google eye floaters..I have them and they are noticiable at night.
I notice it most when approaching or going up a moderately steep hill, also on the highway near the big green upcoming exit signs. The shadow cuts off everything from about 20 degrees above the horizon and up. Had attributed it to the "projector" headlights. Only bothers me if I miss a sign on the highway - can't see it from close up like I could in my old Prizm, since the light isn't scattering upwards as much.
This sounds like the sharp upper cutoff, not likely the same thing OP is complaining about. The eyeballs of oncoming drivers like that sharp upper cutoff, when it is properly aimed. The Prius does cast some light up and to the right, where it should catch signs but not oncoming drivers.
