Is it Prius's, Priuses, Prii? Anyway .... we have two 2008 cars. One is silver one is green. The silver one is pretty much bottom of the line and the Green one is I believe the touring package. There are a few noticeable differences that I understand, but some I don't know if they are model differences, or settings. MFD, the screen in both of them for the vehicle status seem to display the same information in pretty much the same way, but the look is different. The colors are different and the icons are different. I kinda like the Green one better. Is this specific to the different models, or is this an update, or a setting that can be changed? Lock/unlock beep. This one annoys me. The Green one beeps when you lock the doors, the silver one does not. I have looked everywhere for instructions on changing this as a setting but can't find anything. Is this just not a feature on certain models or can I turn on the beep on my silver one? Thanks
prii beep can be turned off. colors can be adjusted. lots of threads posting how. threads on model differences. do a search.
I know how to change the colors, but what about the differences in the icons. I've been searching for a while on the door lock beep and still can't find anything.
The "beep" and other features (eg. Alarm) can be set up using the dealer's computer OBD2 hardware/software tester. JeffD
https://priuschat.com/forums/knowle...andard-optional-equipment-some-countries.html lists the model differences. The color scheme can be changed. However, if the difference is deeper than that, it could be that one has the older lower res MFD (examples at John's Stuff - Toyota Prius Photo Album 61) vs. the newer version that started becoming available with 06 models (http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...99-screen-display-differances.html#post688686). Apparently, if you have no backup camera (even on an 06 or beyond), you'll have the older, lower res screen.
The owner's manual should also have pictures for the two different types/styles of iconography/graphics on the MFD. Mine did.
