We just purchased a used 2006 Prius in California with Yellow HOV stickers. My wife is the only one title and registration. Am I able to drive the car in the HOV lane or is the registered owner the only one who can legally drive as a single occupant in the HOV lane? In other words, is the Yellow sticker HOV access for the car for any driver or just for the owner on title and reg?
The yellow HOV sticker is void for hybrids on Jan 1 2011. Natural gas vehicles and others extend to 2015 but not hybrids.
in believe that you are WRONG on your date quote. governator arnold extended the yellow stickers until 6/30/11. the white stickers for electric and natural gas go thru 2015. BTW...the state is still issuing white stickers for qualified electric & LNG vehicles, but has since run out of yellow stickers for hybrids the sticker is for the car, so any licensed driver car go in carpool lane.
