All, A plain Pkg IV on truecar.com is quoting a best price of $23,110. That dealer, however, is saying the price does NOT include the $1,648 in additional dealer fees. Truecar.com website says the report DOES include those fees. So which is it? Is the dealer working a scam here? Or is the truecar.com verbiage misleading? Here's what it says on the truecar.com website for this car: "Additional Fees: $1,648. The report includes a $760 Destination Fee and $888 of Regional Ad Fees. Prices do not reflect state and local taxes, title, or licensing fees."
I am not sure of the answer. What I would suggest is talking with another dealer. Then compare stories.
'additional dealer fees'? That sounds suspiciously like additional dealer markup or dealer packs, i.e. extra profit. The other additional fees you list, included in the Truecar price, are not dealer fees.
Area dealers charge around $300 for "Documentation Fees," which are in addition to the truecar price. All the dealers in ME, NH, MA, etc. that I've encountered seem to charge it, but none have given me a satisfactory answer as to what-in-the-hell it's supposed to include.
My personal opinion of Truecar pricing is that it's highly incomplete. I get so damn sick of arguing that SOME of the numbers match, but you need them all to make a full picture. It's aggravating!
