It's just nice to know that by the time my lease comes up, I will have a lot of choices in the EV and plug-in market.
What I find incredible is that Tesla has pioneered the battery technology that Toyota will be using in this Rav4 EV, especially considering Japan and S. Korea are leaders in EV battery technology and mfg. It is going to be really interesting to see how good they can make batteries in the next 10 or 20 years. I read that Li-Ion batteries only have 1/8 the energy density of gasoline and that the physical limit is only 1/4. I can see an EV as a 2nd car in the household, but for someone who is just going to have one of those busy days with lots of driving, waiting hours to recharge is just not going to work. We'll see how it plays out for EV's in the coming years. The market will choose what it wants and can afford.
