Before anyone gets all huffy puffy... I did do a search and I did not come up with a definitive answer. Also, one post was many years old so I did not bother reviving the post. The issue is, when driving at low speeds, especially after coming to a stop, I hear this intermittent knock that comes from the rear of the vehicle. I am not sure if it is coming from the outside or inside, but it really sounds like it is coming from the chassis. I know other users have had this problem (from the searches) and I was wondering if anyone has discovered what might be causing the sound. Thanks!
I suggest that you have your suspension and exhaust system checked out. Maybe: - a rear strut has failed. - the rear sway bar that you installed is loose. - an exhaust system hanger has broken. - there is something loose in the spare tire well
Well, I looked under the car and sure enough, there were two people right in the rear bumper just knocking. I asked why and they said they were playing punch buggy on my car :-/
Hehe. In serious though, I'm at the dealership having my sway bar tightened and the rear of the car inspected while its on the lift. I'll update ya'll if it gets fixed.
Yep, that was the issue. The knocking sound is no more. With the sway bar tightened and the two miscreants pulled from the bumper, I am terror free!
