Hi gays..please help?? I have a problem emerged after leaders of the car prius 2010 rainstorm in the streets and the street was full of water .. this warning on .(( Electric power steering system warning ))
I think you mean the traction-control light, not the power steering, Ali. Traction control tries to stop one wheel from skidding on a slippery road by sending its power to the other wheels. The light tells you it has worked correctly. There are many threads on this forum about the strange feeling a driver sometimes gets when traction control comes on while the car is turning. To some drivers it feels like the the car is suddenly going faster -- but just for a short time.
---------- I mean when it shows me a warning ((Electric power steering system warning)) steering wheel becomes ossified and become the car is not working
Vinnie English is obviously not the OPs first language, try to meet him half way. Flan I am not confident I know the warranty situation in Iraq, are you? I personally have never had any failures in my Prius, but I can only imagine how poorly the manual reads if you are translating it as you go.
These can be the warnings signs caused by unrelated problems. Here are a few simple items that should be checked before trying to find a qualified Prius mechanic. (1) Does it have fuel? And is that fuel reaching the engine? This was the first warning the car displayed when a reader intentionally ran out fuel as a test. (2) What is the main (traction / high voltage) battery SOC (state of charge) displayed on the dashboard? If it has only 1 or 2 bars, then this battery may not be getting charged properly. (You cannot charge this battery without special equipment, so must depend on the engine to do so.) (3) If it has sufficient fuel and SOC, is the 12V battery voltage adequate? This battery condition is not displayed anywhere, so must be measured with a separate voltmeter.
ali, if you saw this sign during the drive you will need the dealer's assistance. They will be able to read the DTC code from PS ECU and follow the repair procedure. I hope you have a 3 year warranty in Iraq. The P/S warning lamp can light up if the battery is not sufficiently charged or the voltage decreases temporarily. The amount of power assist will be reduced and the P/S warning light will come on. In such cases, the amount of power assist returns normal when the battery voltage recovers.
