I know. Some people go ape over that and Toyota has a ton of it. The Camry commercials where they follow some lame person and why they're on their 15th Camry don't do a darn thing for me.
This is some of the Bravado I think was missing from Toyota when Toyota was "under attack" from the media during the recall and fear campaign. I'll reserve judgement until I actually see some of the advertising, but in general I think it's a good approach. If you have ever watched Patton..with George C. Scott..you'll remember the speech he gives at the begining, proclaiming that Americans love a winner... I think that evaluation is true...So I think Toyota reminding people that they are the biggest and the best around...is a good approach... A lot better than reminding people how many automobiles they have "fixed"...
I suspect Toyota made a deliberate decision not to ruffle any political feathers. They knew what was going on, and they decided to ride the wave.
I've seen several of these commercials now. Main channels, like 4,5,7, etc. Started about a week ago.
