Hello everyone, After averaging $700-800/month in fuel driving big SUV's, I've sprung for a used 2010 prius II today for $17,200 OTD with 32K miles in silver. I'm excited to save so much money in gas, that's for sure. I hope I got a reasonable deal on it...ya never really know with car dealers in my experience, but I felt like it was fair. I'll post pics tomorrow after I pick it up. If there's any must do mods to these cars, please feel free to let me know. I already ordered a Rosen HU, backup camera, backup sensor kit, Rosen IPod/sirius/tuner kit, and some husky liners front and rear, so I'm all ears. Chris
Hey congrats I just traded in a 15mpg 05 turbo outback with some nice mods and 340hp for a nice Barcelona Red V hahahaha, so far i like it but i hate how other drivers treat me now and cant do much about it, before people who f@#$%ked with me would be like damn i just got spanked by a wagon.
LOL...I hear ya. I could care less what other folks think at this point. Based on my research, this is the best car for the money, period, on all fronts of being economical.
That's good to hear, I suppose. I'd say it's in good condition, not excellent, but good overall. No carfax or autocheck damage. I had it checked by the local toyota dealership for all the same things they do for certifying their used cars, and it would have qualified for their certification and saw no problems with it. So, I felt it wasn't too terrible. I'll probably get it professionally detailed, run biocide systems through it to clear out any smells, and that should be it. From there, I'm looking forward to installing the new stereo, backup camera, and backup sensors, for sure. Chris
:welcome:You will be pleasantly surprised at how little you spend to fill up after going the same distance as your previous big SUV and be even happier when the weather warms up (better mileage then). I'm not into modding or getting much of anything that's aftermarket, but to each his own...
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the gas savings. Plus, I'm going from a lifted SUV, so I'm also looking forward to enjoying a nice smooth car to drive, as well. As far as doing aftermarket upgrades, I considered just having the dealer do the Bluetooth hands free setup an xm radio for the stock radio, but after spending only slightly less money, I still wouldn't have all the additional features that the rosen has. So, for a tad more, I went for it. I think I will get the factory auto dimming mirror, though, unless you guys recommend a better aftermarket version that's available??? Chris
Congrats on your new Prius. Welcome to PriusChat. There's more of us NC Prius owners and chatters about the forum and speaking for myself, we're all happy about our Prius. The mods I see folks talk about are wheels, covers, Nav systems, radio upgrades, mats. You'll find lots of info on the "accessories" forum and at the PC link for add-ons.
I appreciate it...I'm excited after my first 100 miles driving from Charlotte area up to Boone, overall uphill from probably sea level to around 3,500 feet, driving 8-9 mph over the speed limit the whole way in eco mode, I still averaged just a hair under 50 mpg...that's freakin' ridiculous...lol. I love it! Yeah, my wheels are a tad scuffed up, but nothing I'm worried about too much. I'm going to consider doing seat covers with heated seats, but not 100% sure which ones, and outside of that, I'm not really sure what else I'll do to it. Chris
Looks like my Rosen and floor mats might be here by Friday possibly, maybe Monday on the Rosen. That's exciting...the car is getting detailed today and tomorrow, then I got a little bottle of touch up paint from the dealer today to get rid of some minor scratches, and hopefully from there it's mod time. Chris
