Hi! Steering groaning in '01 Prius just purchased 57k miles

    Hi; not load groaning, but sounds like either there's not enough fluid or something is caught and scraping . . . just literally bought car . no dlr inspection beforehand b/c cln't get appmt - otherwise car is great - although brakes don't seem quite trigger-sharp.

    It's never too late to get an inspection, but regardless, let the dealer inspect steering and brakes. An 01 Prius with 57K has lots and lots of miles to go.

    I'm tempted to just let it go until 60k service; trying to avoid inevitable "diagnosis fee" if that's just the way Prius' sound. I'm sort of thinking that maybe I can hear more b/c car is quieter. Any1 know of good Prius mechanic in Pac NW?
