I have a Lifetime Sub on my current XM radio with my 2010 Prius IV. It is not the NAV unit. I would like to upgrade to the Rosen box but do not want to pay a new Lifetime Sub. Is it possible to use the XM box under the seat with the Rosen unit?
Has anyone tried to used there existing XM reciever with the Rosen unit? Does anyone have a contact at Rosen to ask the question?
AFAIK you can't use the factory XM receiver with any after-market receiver. You might be able to move your lifetime account to another receiver. Either call XM or check their website to see what the charge would be.
The fee is $75 to go from an existing XM radio to a new XM radio. There is no options to go to Siruis. Is there an XM option for Rosen?
AFAIK Rosen only offers Sirius. Why don't you call or email Rosen for confirmation? Kenwood offers a Sirius tuner.
This is the email I sent on Tuesday. From: Sean H [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, April 12, 2011 1:00 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Rosen System for 2010 Prius IV Rosen, I have a few questions. I currently have the 2010 Prius IV OEM JBL system with XM satellite radio. I signed up for a lifetime package with the OEM XM satellite receiver. Is there any way to use the Rosen unit with the OEM satellite receiver? In your video you show the steering wheel controls controlling the radio. The car in your video does not have the OEM Bluetooth controls. If I install the Rosen system will the OEM Bluetooth steering wheel controls still work or will the functionality move to the volume buttons like in your video? I have Android phone that can be a wifi hotspot. Can the Rosen unit connect to a hot spot for traffic info? How hard is it to install other GPS software on the unit. Example Garmin. I read in a few forums that people are doing this. Thanks, Sean H
