This was copied from a thread in the Main Forum. Was wondering if anyone had ever tried anything like this yet, because the Prius is SURELY a blinding car to drive during the daytime...: checked into my friends 2010 Lexus IS250H, it has extended sun visor on both driver and passenger side. I measured the size and it seems to fit the 2010 Prius. The only difference is on the mounting base (ie. round vs. rectangle base). Don't know how much Lexus will charge to sell me one and I guess it won't be cheap. I am posting the IS250H sunvisor here for those who may be interested in getting it. If you do, please let us know if it fits and how much it is. Hoping someone else can take the next step in determining compatibility.
It'd be AWESOME if it made any difference. I've got 30% tint all around, curtains, and a 12" band of the 10% tint across the front windshield, but it's still IMPOSSIBLE to see the computer/laptop screen inside the car. I finally just ordered an anti-glare screen from 3M to put on the laptop screen. I drive 200 miles a day, on the interstate, and the sun is just KILLING me. So, I'm constantly looking for a good solution. I hear all kinds of mixed reactions from people who have bought those aftermarket extenders regarding distorted view thru them, etc. So, I've never taken the plunge to try them since the Prius already has so many blind spots... The last thing I'd need is distorted view out the front, too!
They may cost a lot upfront, but (to me) would be worth it in the long run since I'm in the car so much of the day with the sun blinding me. I don't know HOW many times I've almost pulled over into someone just because I was so blinded by the sun. I started carrying one of those mesh, suction cup things around with me (like people stick on the window beside their baby's car seat, for example), and I just hold it where the sun is torturing me from at that moment. Sometimes I prop it on top of my radar detector, sometimes on top of the rearview mirror..... ANYTHING to help avoid a wreck on the interstate! I never drove a car that was this bad...
lol!! That would def' work! BUT, I do hair, and my hair is "always did"..... So, no baseball caps will be going on it! lol
I know you are highly into aesthetics, but before you spend $220 + shipping, perhaps you should try the Visormates.com visors.
