This question is primarly for 2004-2005 Prii owners with HIDs. Have any of you had to replace your HID bulbs yet? If you did replace them how long have did they last? I believe our 04 still has the original HID bulbs, bought used with unknown maintance history. I know there are a few guys here i.e. F8L, has upgraded his bulbs but I don't know if they died or upgraded cause he could. As always thanks in advance. Ryan
My 2004 has 120K miles and the original HID bulbs. The lights are used only for night time driving - probably 20% of total usage.
Thanks! Maybe there is something to that 06-09 Prius (Toyota switched to D4R on those years) class action lawsuit. My passenger side D4R started winking out a bit after 5 years and 50.8K miles. I also only used them at night or when required in CA when it was raining. When I lived in CA, for the 1st ~3.5 years of my Prius, my return trip home from work was almost always in the dark but I also switched back/forth between 2 cars.
