Apparently it took 40 minutes from start to finish. It was a huge 3 story house surrounded by security and thick walls. Osama had 40 minutes to prepare and in the end he resisted, and they had to "take him out". Currently it's on fire.
Every time I hear news or stories like this, I'm very skeptical about it so I always google the the facts. I found this clip on youtube. It looks really credible to me. If not, that's one hell of a CGI job.

George Bush the Younger has already weighed in so I think that we all can be happy about this. It will likely fire up the Afghani freedom fighters, so "watch yer butz" to the troops there (US&NATO). If we are quite lucky, there will be no retaliation elsewhere,or it will be pre detected and prevented. Hoping that no thinking readers here suppose that there is a great difference in how R or D presidents handle foreign threats. Ah but that is more of a topic for the politics section, yes? The most disappointing thing I have heard thus far is "this will improve Obama's re-election chances". It's not about that, sports. It's about the mission, nee' Sept. 2001. Best case if this is followed by some humanitarian $$$ here and there, some forward motion on Palestinian state, and 'boots off the ground' in 'the Caliphate'. Non-believers ar not really welcomed there. and it tends to make 12-yr-olds carry body bombs. Bad stuff.

The problem with a "live" OBL would be the threat of retalitory acts by AlQuada, such as kidnapping foreigners, then killing them off in public if OSB wasn't released. Interestingly, I've heard several reports that OBL was killed "resisting after a fire fight at his compound." Sounds like he may have been executed by the attack force. Perhaps, we'll find out more about this later. I am a bit disturbed that OBL's body was buried at sea so soon afterwards--ostensibly in accordance with Muslim practices. Funny, the American deaths didn't seem to be on his mind when he ordered the attack on the Trade Centers, so why are we being so "respectful" of his religion?
