I have been doing some research looking for some options on springs for our cars.. What springs lower our car the most? I do not have enough of a budget to get coilovers just yet.
you shouldn't do too much of a drop on stock shocks as they're not made for that. Tanabe NF springs are pretty popular here on the forums, use the search feature to see what people like to run.
It's a toss up like macmaster said. While it is roughly 1.5" the actual breakdown on the Tein and Tanabe's is noticeable side by side. The Tanabe NF's are 1.3" in front and 1.6" in rear. The Tein's are 1.4" in front and 1.5" in the rear. My car sitting next to a car with Tein's on it is noticeably lower in the rear but sits higher in the front. They both look and ride great. I just wish I could mix and match as I really like the stance of the front with the Tein's and the drop of the rear with the Tanabe's. Will decide this weekend as to whether I will go the airbag route as Rodney is doing or coil overs are in my future. Depends on the deal I can work out.
Haha mix and match. At one point I was considering the same thing on my gen ii touring. Rear springs need to be different for the touring so I use H&R springs, but Eibach's front is 1.5". Mine is 1.4". Haha but what's .1" worth? Another $200? No way.
It is real surprising as to what the difference is side by side. I couldn't believe how much lower Rodney's car sits in the front compared to mine. But on the other hand, my car sits noticeably lower in the rear than his. It's near exact opposite. My rears tuck in the fender but sits above the tire in the front. Rodney's sits above the fender in rear and basically sits right on the tire in the front. Reason why I would love to mix and match, but really will do coils or bags in the future.
Are these really the only springs available? Here is the research I did: Column 1 0 1 Spring Mfg[/B]. - - Front - Back -- Price --- Shipping --- Total ---- Link 2 Eibach Prokit --- 1.2" -- 0.8" -- $238.07 ---- $- ------ $238.07 -- ebay 3 Tanabe nf210 --- 1" --- 1.1" -- $199.00 ---- $- ------ $199.00 -- ebay 4 Tanabe df210 --- 1.3" - 1.6" -- $199.00 ---- $- ------ $199.00 -- ebay 5 TEIN H-TECH --- 1.4" -- 1.5" -- $139.99 -- $39.37 --- $179.36 -- ebay Please let me know if there are other options in springs.. I am already researching coilovers.. Tein Htech's are the cheapest and lowest drop.. So that may be the winner for me if there really are no other options.
