I am lost in how to fix this issue. My steering wheel and shifter lights went out, while all the other indicator and light works. Does anyone know if this is a blown fuse or is it something major to fix?
oh shoot posted it in the wrong section. Does anyone know how to delete this or can a mod move it over to 2006 prius section.
You are in the right section. There is a 7.5 A fuse for the instrument panel lighting called "Panel". It should be Fuse #16 under the instrument panel (under the dash near the steering column).
I found Fuse #16 and it's OK, but lights on steering wheel are out. I checked a few other fuses around it to be sure, and they're all OK. If this is a lamp, can I replace it or is this a dealer servicing issue? Mine is a 2008 Prius.
I don't believe the steering wheel lamps are designed to be user serviceable, so if it isn't the fuse, you are probably going to have to take it to a dealer or a good independent shop.
My steering wheel no longer lights up anymore. It used to be very dim. Now it is completely dark. On a perhaps unrelated note, the dimmer switch no longer works for the instrument panel. It can only be used to switch between day light / night time mode. I have already checked the 7.5A fuse and the wire connection behind the dimmer. Everything seems to be fine. Do not know what the problems are. Please help. Thanks.
