I don't know if this has ever been posted - in Youtube I have found 10 videos showing the assembly of the Prius in the Tsutsumi plant. Here the first of the Series: The rest of the videos are called "PRIUS TSUTSUMI ASSEMBLY Div #x", where x is a number up to 9. Very interesting to actually see the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Production_System"]TPS[/ame] at work - in one video a Camry(?) is assembled on the same line of the Prius! This is what I would call flexible manufacturing..
Seems to be the same set of videos as at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...2010-prius-made-in-tsutsimi-plant-videos.html. I've actually toured that plant when the Gen 2 Prius was still very new and on the line. (I had no interest in buying a Prius at the time.) I had a bunch of comments in post 5 and 17 of that thread
Yes, they are the same. Somehow when I started the thread I was not warned from the Forum editing software that a similar post was already created. Oh, well - in any case I have added the link to the post and the original posting on Youtube on the Prius Wiki.
