Well, Here is some interesting and good news..........I guess. Ordered a Prius 5 on May 7, and wasn't really told anything that I didn't know, delivery September,or October or November blah, blah, blah Got an e-mail from my dealer that they were able to tag a 5 that was onboard, and at sea right now. It obviously was not the Blizzard Pearl / Bisque, far from it like my fourth color choice and last interior choice. Black /Dark Grey. I could take it or pass and wait. I thought it over and decide to do a George Costanza and do the opposite of what I usually do. Arriving in Portland, OR. first week of July. So I anticipate delivery mid July. more to follow>
TEXAS HIGHWAY - 9272890 - Vessel's Details and Current Position is do in Portland on July 2. Shipping is picking up. Maybe 50% for the ships but hard to say how many cars are on board. Looking at SE Toyota inventory less than 5% are pkg IV or V.
Yeah I have been following the Texas Highway, does the SE Toyota area include Michigan. I had a second party conversation with a Toyota spokes person and she stated that there were probably no 5's being allocated for my area, so I was able to use some grease to earmark this black 5, there were Silver avialable.
Accoriding to the Past history itinerraries of the Texas Highway, she may have been in port since 4-02, finally sailing on 5-21, bound for Portland:cheer2: Number of cars on board??? Hope none of them got wet.
Black was my first color choice, but couldn't find one. I got Barcelona Red and love it. Whichever color you choose, the Prius is definitely worth it!
Last night I e-mailed my local dealer and told them that I do not want to purchase the Black 5, I'll wait for the color of my choice, or at least the second color.
Well it's been a couple of weeks and here is the next installment of "How the Prius Turns", Got a call from a Dealer about 200 miles from me,they tell me they have a Blizzard Five, just what I want and for X number of dollars I can tag this car for delivery. soooooooooooo, Not wanting to get anyone PO'ed at my original dealer,( for allot of business and personal reasons) I contact them and tell them I had found this Blizzard Five. They inform me, that it is not possible that this car does not exist, and that I should go ahead with the deal with the second dealer. Turns out they were right I would have to wait a number of weeks (not specific) before the Blizzard Five comes into their dealership. All this back and forth obviously puts a match under the original dealer, and they surprizingly they find a Blue Ribbon Blue my third choice, with Nav. so I said I would take the Blue Five. Phew!!! That will arrive in Two weeks from Portland,OR. We'll See.......
Finally, got an e-mail from my dealer that my Blue Ribbon Five will be in tomorrow, I will hopfully pick it up on Thursday the 4th of August a couple of days short of thirteen weeks, and yes I did not get my first or second color choice. I will give you one more update we I actually get the FOB:cheer2:
Re: Following my Order / It has arrived Well, after 13 weeks of reading allot of the threads on this site and getting a pretty good idea of what to expect from my Prius. I have finally picked it up. A stunning Deep Blue Ribbon Blue that is a head turner. I have a little more that 60 miles on it, and have spent the better part of two days trying to digest the Owners Manual, and the Navigation Manual. I love the car, the routine so far is read the manual and then go outside and try or test it out. The car is a Five with Nav., Bumper applique, carpet floor mats, and Lower Body Molding.
