Our local fireworks are shot out over the water, next to the marina. Here are some nice photos of this year's event: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?fbid=10150227525000686&set=a.10150227524075686.328145.326743845685&type=1&theater Tom
I bet the fireworks were beautiful, but I'm not joining Facebook to see the pics. I've got bad vibes about Facebook security. Maybe I should be cautious about PriusChat.
I have a Facebook account under a fake name, just so I can access things like that, or the local truck garden that posts what veggies they have available. I've got no profile listed and no "friends." I do not do anything with it but check out the occasional business page. I dropped my real Facebook page after I "friended" an actual friend, and a bunch of her friends, who I did not know, sent me friend requests. Gave me the creeps! The fireworks pics are nice, but nothing like seeing a live display. I've seen some good ones, but this year I was in bed before dark.
So, your friend has been telling her [single, female] friends how really sweet you are, and once she got you on FB, she urged them to friend you so that you could widen your social circle - and you vanished. *sigh* Okay, maybe that wasn't it, but it might have been. You can set all your info to "private", and then only friend people whom you actually know. Requests will come. You can ignore.
