I can drive for 10 hours+ which is only limited by age, fatigue and attention span. Spousette the other hand can only do an hour before her back hurts so that she must stop. She has a facet problem in the area of L1 and L2 of her back. Nothing seems to relieve the problem --- seat cushions, lumbar pads, vertical sitting, more laid back, close to the wheel and further back. Even with cruise control. Passenger seat is fine.... there are no 'games' involved I've looked thru a few threads. Any inexpensive suggestions.
It appears that you've exhausted the potential list of inexpensive solutions; other than you get to drive and she gets to sit in the passenger seat. If you are ready to move to the list of expensive solutions, maybe you could have aftermarket seating installed, for example Recaro.
my wife injured her lower back and went through years of physical therapy. since then, one of the few car seats she has found comfortable is the camry. that's the only reason she drives a hycam instead of a prius. when she got in my car and saw the mpg's at 67 and she averages 40, she said, "maybe i should give the prius another try!" all the best with your search!
Thanks. Been wondering if a kidney belt like truckers wear would help? Anyone tried that? AND Do Recaro seats fix the problem for most? Do folks have this problem with the new Pri or Camrys?
