I bought a new prius 3 2011 , and the navigation system and bluetooth are not working while driving teh car. I read about the hidden functionality to update the nav system , but i guess it doesnt work for 2011. Also teh bluetooth doesnt work while driving the car. Please help. I am utterly depressed. I put all my savings in buying this and I am utterly dejected after ssing all this.
I think they don't allow you use the touchscreen while driving so that you don't crash. you can use the voice commands instead.
Yeah.. but what if you have someone on the adjacent car seat to do that for you. Does anyone has any info about some hacking or something??? Please help
One quick work around for the Bluetooth is to use Speed Dials for your close friends, etc. The Nav will let you access the Speed Dial menu while driving. No help with the override.
No consolation to those in the USA, but I can access all touchscreen functions while driving in my European-spec 2011.
Thats really sad. I read at couple of places about the switch, that disconnects the NAV with the speed sensor and reconnects it when ON. has anyone tried it on 2011 prius?. Does it really work . I am a bit paranoid as I bough my prius 2 days back. What if I end up with an open dash board. I dont want to put my brand new possession in turmoil. Any suggestions?
Here are threads re the DIY override hack, and the prestige society hack (which is plug and play but for having to take parts of the dash apart) - http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...ation-input-override-speed-sensor-bypass.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...s-society-navi-hack-installed.html#post973574 The nav is the same in the 2010 and 2011, so either solution will work for 2011 Prius.
You act as if this is not common on most navigation systems. Would you cry if you spent $2000 on an aftermarket NAV system on the find it has the same restriction?
