lol that could have been interesting! Engage 1st gear at the lights and shoot backwards and then let the other guys insurers try and argue that he didn't run into you.
And MUCH worse than imagined unintended acceleration. Tough luck for honda these past few years. What with their hybrid ecu's needing to be reprogrammed to use less battery power (so the traction packs will last until the warranty is over) - which consequentially reduces MPG's (because now the ICE has to do more of the work) - to the underwhelming sales for their Gen II Insight ... now this recall. Well, hopefully things will do better in the future.
Hmmmm one wonders how the new, more economical Insight will last? How have they managed it considering all the reprogramming refered to above? And could that be why hybrid Hondas only get a 90k mile warranty in the UK?
I see a lot of Insights here. They are not uncommon at all. Today I passed a Leaf, Insight, Two Gen III Prii, One Gen II Prius and CR-Z all in a row... I'm talking about one after the other, because I was getting into the carpool lane. I didn't know it was as Leaf that I was passing until I saw it in my rear view ... and I guess he was a bit ticked off that a Prius was passing him because he was trying to prevent me from overtaking. That's quite a conglomeration of EV's and Hybrids. First I've ever encountered.
