I'm a new member and I'm picking up my first ever Prius in 30 minutes. I can't wait to read all the tips and the posts! Wish me luck and have a great weekend everyone 2011 Prius III with Navigation in Barcelona Red
Congrats! You may want to get the dealer to switch your reverse beep from hair-pulling constant beep to one beep before you sign for it. GL with your new ride!
Sleep in the car overnight and remember the heavenly scent of 'new car'. My lord, is anything nicer!!! I've had my new '11 for a little over a month and it's finally starting to disappear...
Welcome and enjoy. I read the title and thought "Wow, it only took 30 minutes for them to sign all the paperwork and drive away in their new Prius." LOL Please tell us how long your dealer visit was when you picked up your car. I went only to have my used car appraised and sell it to the dealer, but ended up buying a Prius they had. Total time about 3.5 hours.
My total time picking up my car and signing all the paperwork was just over an hour (and that includes the drive around the parking lot my husband insisted on and the time it took to explain how to operate my car). Instead of going to a dealer (the local Toyota dealer has HORRIBLE reviews..check them out on Yelp, Claremont Toyota) so I worked with a car buying service associated with my hubby's credit union. I told him the model, make and color I wanted and he did all the negotating and handled all the loan docs for me. Today I just signed everything and picked up the keys. Easiest transaction EVER. I highly recommend it for people that hate car dealers and I was able to pay little over invoice.
For those folks with leather interiors, I recommend going to Griot's garage and picking up a bottle of their leather cleaner. It smells like a "new car smell" and keeps the leather in great shape. I highly recommend it.
Newbie here as well! Picking up my Blizzard Pearl NEW 2011 Prius 4 with Solar/Nav up this evening..!! Discounted substantially from sticker!!! great deal... excited to stop paying at the pump! coming from my Ford F150! yikes
WOW, why did the dealer discount so much? I still got the ol' "We never discount the Prius even a penny for we can't keep them in stock"
Have fun driving this weekend. We've now had our Prius for 2 weeks and have over 2,000 miles on it. I really enjoy driving this car, longer trips are no problem at all.
