Every time I listen to the radio in my car the volume shoots up or turns down by itself. There seems to be no correlation to road noise or geographical location, it's completely random. I thought this was a problem with my audio settings so I tried turning off/on ALS? - (I forgot the acronym and what it even does, something with adaptive road noise) But since there aren't many audio settings, it seems I've tried everything and nothing works. I have a 2006 so I'm thinking there may have been some shoddy work with the electronics during the model refresh. Does anyone else have this problem and what should I do? :ear:
You just lost me... Do you mean the differences between the 04/05 and the 06+? If so, there are no differences with the audio equipment. I have seen other posts with issues that you describe. The fix was to replace the radio.
I didn't mean to imply that the audio system was refreshed. Just the car in general. Anytime you tweak something, something else goes wrong. BTW you are still wrong. The MFD software did change, so who knows, I could be right. I'll look into replacing the radio. Thanks.
The whole MFD changed, not just the software. The 06+ has a higher resolution. However, that should not be causing the problems you are experiencing.
I am having the same problem with my radio/cd volume. The volume will go up and down - the round button to turn up the volume will now work when this is happening - so if I use the volume control on the stering wheel, that will work or if I power off the radio - then the volume control button will work again. Also, on a few occasions, when I start the car, the volume will be really loud. I have a 2007 Prius, package IV
