Hey everyone. I'm looking for anybody who has a Prius with a busted / ruined / destroyed drivetrain and is willing to embark on a crazy project with me. I'm thinking we put a large aluminum-block racing engine in the car, convert to rear- or all-wheel-drive, and hack it so it *goes.* Now I'm not talking about regular fast-car setups; I'm thinking let's aim for the stars. The car can legally be modified in so many ways; once a car loses its batteries and drivetrain or is partly wrecked or has a salvage title then it can become a plaything. I'm thinking take one of these engineless salvaged cars and either put a big block in the backseat / cargo area or put it underhood. Is anyone crazy enough to think this through with me? ~ dan ~
The Prius currently does not require emissions testing in California. However, that will not (likely) be true in the near future. As soon as BAR deploys their next generation of testing software, the Prius will also be subject to emissions testing. SmogTips.com - Does your vehicle need a Smog Check? Hybrid Exempt.
