PSA: hard drive warranty cuts coming soon

    PSA: Western Digital and Seagate commence bonfire of the warranties -- Engadget also has links to these w/a bit more on the cuts:
    Seagate matches and raises WD disk warranty cuts ? The Register
    WD slashes warranty periods on Blue and Green drives ? The Register

    On top of that, there aren't many different hard drives companies left.

    All the harddrives I've ever bought failed except for Maxtor internal. The external is crap. HDD are so cheap now that they're just disposables.
