That feature was carried thru to at least the '97 Camry, as we just had a bulb failure indication on the instrument panel showing us that we had what turned out to be an open filament in a 3157 brake/tail lamp. :thumb:
How true! I love it when I see these auto reviews of the new Jetta TDI with clean diesel technology, jaysus, I remember the jetta and golf's that friends own and yes everything that could possibly go wrong with those POS do except the light bulb. Hahaha! My lights out indicator would be looking infront of my car at night and for the tail I use the reflection of glass from store fronts or sometime my mechanic tells me. Last thing I want is more wires and a busier/cluttered dashboard. I prefer simplicity.
I traded in a 2009 Jetta TDI for the Prius. What a POS, the list would have been shorter for what didn't break.
Actually I'm wrong, the brake lights kept on blowing on the Vdubs, the only thing that didn't fail was the headlamps, it burnt out from wear and not premature failure. The Prii may not be a fast car but the 2010 is a huge improvement. I'd love to have my cake and eat it too but for now this car will do.
A friend of mine had a Jetta and carried a complete assortment of bulbs in the trunk because a different bulb blew daily.
