Got some rather heavy snow last light. First real snow my new III has been in since I bought it last November. I think It will be great fun. None of the problems with traction control I've read about. Pulled me right out my driveway and onto the street even though there was 6" to 8" of snow. It was deep enough but light enough the snow was coming up over the hood and windshield. Now it someone can tell me what 4 or 5 sharp warning beeps mean when the traction control lights up... It did not happen all the time just in a turn. My drive has a 2" curb to get onto the street but it pulled me up after a couple tries.
Welcome to PC :welcome: My old car did something like that if I took a corner too fast. It would warn me by flashing "Traction control".
Great idea to use snow for the grille blocking. By the time the engine has heated up enough to need the additional cooling, the snow will have melted out of the way.
The beeping comes from the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). If the vehicle detects conditions that could lead to understeer or oversteer. The system will automatically brake individuall wheels to counteract those conditions. When the system is actively trying to keep you on your intended path, it will flash the traction control light and it will make a beebing sound. This is done to let the driver know that the system is working to keep then on the road; it serves as a warning to the driver that road conditions are getting dangerous.
