Boston Market! We didn't have Boston Markets in LA, I don't think, so I'm in heaven. Houston has Boston Markets on every corner. Today I had the Rotisserie chicken, vegetable medley & new potatoes.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(burritos @ Jul 28 2006, 04:09 PM) </div> Please tell what kind of cheese. Do you want me to tell you that I ate a sandwich or that I had a chicken breast I grilled on awesome whole wheat bread with this kick butt terryaki (sp?) sauce?
Mmmm....lunch...one of my favourite meals! Today's is zapped leftovers, but it's tastier than it sounds. Last night I sliced up some turkey breast and simmered it in olive oil, garlic, ginger, and some red onion. Then I added a few more spices, a diced red pepper and a sliced mango, and served it on a bed of rice. Yum. Too bad everyone else went shopping. There's another ripe mango on the window sill, so maybe I'll make mango chicken tonight.
Today was the veggie chili, not bad but..... yesterday was seared Halibut with a Cilantro Almond pesto, carmelized pearl onions and chopped tomato and red pepper salad.....good thing I don't have any interviews!
Chicken taco (flour tortilla) with salad and ice tea (when I go out to lunch). 12-grain high density bread with humus, turkey, dill pickle and organic greens for a sandwich, with carrots and celery (when I bring my lunch).
Today it's Roast Beef and Cheddar on a croissant with lettuce and mustard. Green olives. Pretzels. And a few malted milk balls.
No need to start a new thread when there's this one to satisfy my need to talk about my meal... Today is a NoDietDay... so I don't have to eat just 250 calories... And my girlfriend from Chico drove down with her Mom to bring me some of her homemade GUMBO... Monica can cook... her first husband was from Baton Rouge, so she had to learn it right, and being a fine Texas gal, she learned it well by golly... and I am gleefully enjoying my pint of home-made Gumbo at this very moment... I just had to say I am a lucky man indeed to have friends to bring me food I love from afar, that I only have to reheat to enjoy... Sorry... no pics of my fake tupperware Gumbo filled delight... and shortly... there won't be any evidence of it either... :hungry:
Not sure who all shops at Sam's Club but they have these awesome smoked salmon filets by Jim Beam that are delicious!!! They're about $6 bucks but my wife and I can split one for lunch with a few crackers and it's all good!!!
Lentils, felafel and salad of scallions, cucumbers, and tomatoes flavored with olive oil and lemon. I'm away from home, this was from my icebox. If I was home it might have been the same Tip for best salad ever on the road: bring the veggies whole, and chop them up for the meal. Fresh is incomparable.
Just had: Rice (boiled) with Fried chicken (coated in turmeric & salt) Tempeh ([ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempeh]Tempeh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]) and chilli sauce (Well I am in Malaysia!)
Something original..... Grilled Cheesburger (from a local diner.) French Fries. Half sweet iced tea. Some things never go out of style!!!
