THis is for the lurkers out there - I was one of you until today!!! I got invaluable information on this forum and wanted to let everyone know that we just bought a Prius V 5 with AT package yesterday. Here are the details of our new family car:
    Make: PriusV
    Model: 5
    Package: Advanced Technology Package
    Color: Blizzard Pearl
    Location: NJ
Price: 34,500. (does not include tax, tag and doc fees)

It is a beautiful car. The two roofs are amazing and give the kids sitting in the backseat a wonderful view of the outside.

    Thanks...

Well, I would say your sticker price was somewhere around 37,750, So invoice was probably around. 35,400, and the dealer cost was around 34,500. Sounds like you got right into the edge of about 1,100 in dealer holdback. Very NICE!

How did you haggle with them?

THanks. We would like to think that we got a good price on the car.:)

We got a price on the v5 from truecar.com (cannot price the AT package on the site). Called a host of dealerships in the NJ area. Had to fight through the fact that no one wants to deal with folks on the phone or internet and there is enormous amounts of false advertising and "additional fees" that are tacked on to the price.

Eventually found one dealership with a price of 34,209 on a V5 with the AT package - black color. However, they did not have a reputation for reliability and were far away from us. We then, took this price to our eventual dealer and told him to match it. He did charging us $220 extra for the Blizzard Pearl.

We also got 2.5% financing with a $3K down. We do have good credit. Actually made the deal for 2.9% and then they came back with a lower number the next day. Very pleasant buying experience.

Very safe color for a family car, too. Nice going. I want one of those myself. You might look into some paint protection film on the front if you spend any time on highways. I have lovely chips in mine from my 95 commute. I try to stay on the parkways for that reason. The next one will have paint protection. Welcome to the Blizzard Brigade!

I will be driving 120miles on the turnpike everyday. Hence the need for fuel economy.
