I happened to be checking out mpg Performance of different manufacturers - and LOOK how much the Prius has helped Toyota! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Highway_Traffic_Safety_Administration I hear so many manufacturers bragging on their fleet averages, and BOY, the talk doesn't seem to match the walk .
Unclear at a glance, but seems that data is for 2009 at the latest. I bet Hyundai is now the leader. GM, Ford, Chrysler have no chance due to pickup truck % mix?
That's from January 2010. Those averages should be rising. Hyundai's CAFE is pretty high, which is why others will say "full line manufacturer".
Here is the full report. http://www.nhtsa.gov/staticfiles/rulemaking/pdf/cafe/October_2011_Public.pdf It breaks out domestic car, imported cars, and trucks.
Euro numbers came out this month too, and Toyota was at top.... not sure if thats good or bad, but it seems they wont have any problems meeting the criteria for EU legislations.
